The National Geographic Photography Forum is a part of the 2022 National Geographic Taiwan Photography Contest series of events. The National Geographic Photography Forum hopes to encourage photography enthusiasts of different levels and inspire them to photograph excellent themed images from the perspective and spirit of National Geographic, and to see the beauty of Taiwan from every possible angle.

From 2015 to 2019, the photography contest was held in Taiwan for five consecutive years, with nearly 40,000 members participating in events related to the contest. Over 10,000 participants submitted more than 26,000 photos of the nature, people, and places in Taiwan. Teenagers are also encouraged to participate to find the next generation of skilled photographers.

This year’s National Geographic Photography Forum has invited George Steimetz (National Geographic master aerial photographer), Director Ke Jing-Yuan (Taiwanese environmental documentaries filmmaker), and Yorko Summer (a top 100 underwater photographer in the world) to share the meticulous planning and dedication to perfection needed for every project from the disciplines of ocean, land, and aerial photography. The content will be divided into three episodes, which will air on the National Geographic Facebook page and YouTube channel at 7PM on 2/15 (Tuesday), 2/18 (Friday), and 2/22 (Tuesday). This is a temple for photography lovers to gather and interact. This event combines the three disciplines of ocean, land, and aerial photography and unveils the secrets of image creation.

The new theme of ecological sustainability has been added to this year’s 2022 National Geographic Taiwan Photography Contest. The contest invites everyone to focus on the environment and ecology through the lens. The CEO of Wistron Foundation, Chou Wen-Ling, will also share what ecological sustainability means to the Wistron Foundation during the forum and the decade long efforts of Wistron in ecological conservation.
