Guandu Nature Park, supported and sponsored by the Wistron Foundation, has once again been honored with the "Star Wetland Centre Award" by Wetland Link International (WLI) this year. The park achieved prestigious double-star recognition, specifically in the categories of "Facility" and "People."

Since 2022, the Wistron Foundation has partnered with the Wild Bird Society of Taipei to champion the "Moon Pond Adoption and Waterbird Breeding Habitat Conservation Project." Through multifaceted initiatives—including freshwater fish restoration, the renovation of Birdwatching Cabin No. 2, the construction of the Moon Pond ecological tank, and sponsored wetland field trips for disadvantaged schools and groups with special needs—the Foundation has significantly enhanced the park’s infrastructure and environmental education, further elevating the overall service standards of Guandu Nature Park.
Starting in 2023, the Foundation has mobilized Wistron employees to participate in "Working Holidays" dedicated to removing invasive species and planting aquatic vegetation within the Guandu wetlands and Moon Pond. That same year, the team expanded its involvement to the Guandu International Nature Art Festival, collaborating on a series of environmental art installations. These works include Ascending Blessings (2023), Ascending Home (2024), and Aerial Habitat (2025). This initiative empowers staff to engage firsthand—safeguarding the wetlands with their own hands while revitalizing the landscape through the transformative power of art.

Accredited by WLI, the "Star Wetland Centre Award" serves as the world's only global quality mark specifically designed for wetland educators and tourist destinations. Having previously earned a single star in 2022, Guandu Nature Park has once again been honored in 2025—this time securing two stars—in recognition of the park's exceptional achievements in the " Facility " and "People" categories. The judges commended the park's high standards of infrastructure and service, which empower corporations, schools, and volunteer groups to engage in habitat surveys and management, effectively cultivating a natural environment where visitors of all ages can both enjoy and learn from nature.
Among the nearly 380 wetland centres worldwide that comprise the WLI network, Guandu Nature Park stands out as one of only 39 award-winning sites since the Star Wetland Centre Award’s inception in 2022. Building on its initial recognition, the park has reached a new milestone in 2025 by securing stars in two separate categories simultaneously. Guandu Nature Park remains the only Star Wetland Centre in Taiwan, now uniquely holding the prestigious distinction of being a "Double-Star" wetland.
