2024 National Geographic Taiwan Photo Contest finalists revealed

The 2024 National Geographic Taiwan Photo Contest, exclusively sponsored by the Wistron Foundation, attracted 7,803 participants and a total of 10,205 entries over a two-month submission period. This year's contestants showcased the enormous possibilities of photographic art, with each photo reflecting the photographer's unique perspective and emotions. Every image tells a story and captures a special moment. After extensive debate and discussion, the judges announced 50 finalist works in six major categories: People, Places, Nature, Ecology and Environment, Teens, and the newly added Astrophotography.

The Ecology and Environment category, added by the Wistron Foundation, saw 307 participants submitting an impressive 2,705 entries, marking a threefold increase compared to last year. This growth reflects a rising interest among citizen photographers in ecological and environmental issues. In this category, participants were required to tell an ecological story through 5-10 photos, making it particularly challenging. The finalist entries are all exceptional, and colleagues are strongly encouraged to view them online.
