The 2022 Taiwan Photo Contest was the first time that Wistron had send out a call for submissions on the theme of Ecological Sustainability, where contestants present a complete ecological story through five photos. The aim is to raise public awareness and inspire people to use their camera lenses to care about the environment and their homeland. A total of 330 entries were submitted this year, and the first, second and third place winners and a group of Merit Award works have been selected.

This year, Ke Chin Yuan, a renowned director of environmental documentaries, was invited to mentor the winner of the Ecological Sustainability category on an eco-sustainability reporting mission and teach him how to carry out environmental photography. This year, a special issue on “Ecological Sustainability Photography” of the Taiwan Photo Contest has been produced, which brings together the winning entries of the Ecological Sustainability category, as well as photos captured from the unique biodiversity and landscapes in the areas visited by National Geographic special assignment photographers on their trips to Wistron’s adopted natural habitats. These locations include Shuanglianpi in Yilan, Fuyang Eco Park, and Niupu in Longci District, Tainan.

Mr. Simon Lin, chairman of the Wistron Foundation, shared in the special issue: The mission of an influential enterprise is to bring the spirit of ESG to life, including the beauty of the Environment, the goodness of Society, and the truth of Governance, which together form the blueprint for corporate sustainability. We hope that more partners who care about the natural environment will join hands with us to help enterprises and the environment move towards sustainable development with innovative ideas and realize the vision of “innovation and sustainability”.

We invite you to read the special issue to gain insight into the importance of nature and biodiversity, and to experience the beauty of coexistence and co-prosperity between humans and all living things through the photos and stories.
