Background

Art can enrich spiritual life, and form an invisible spiritual fountain that can then nourishes our lives. Wistron commits to creating a technological life, while also affirming the importance of artistic life. In 2012, we supported The National Culture and Arts Foundation (NCAF) with practical objectives to build a performance environment conducive to cultural and artistic work, rewarding cultural and artistic undertakings as well as raising the standard of arts and culture as a whole.

With the goals of "cultivating the ability to provide integrated services in the arts and culture industry," "developing cultural and arts businesses that can operate independently and that also incorporate social entrepreneurship," moreover "cultivating professionals to provide integrated services in the arts and culture industry," NCAF has built a platform for the cooperation between arts and enterprises and plays the role of an intermediary to bridge the gap between the two.
Since the launch, we have also proposed various projects which enterprises can support by providing funding. We have planned and executed many projects, introduced various concepts and practical experiences, and expanded possible resource investments to accumulate a considerable number of cooperative art-enterprises projects and valuable experiences.

In addition to funding the NCAF, we also expose our employees to arts and cultural performances through internal activities in the company. Our adoption of a multi-faceted approach to the promotion of arts and culture, included setting up a welfare website for arts and culture, negotiating ticket discounts for groups regarding arts and culture to appeal to employees and their families interested in enjoying different artistic and cultural performances. We organize seminars in art and culture with packages of various themes, which not only provide actual ticket sales for performances of many performing groups, but also encourage employees to take the initiative to go to theaters to appreciate quality performances as an important part of injecting arts and culture into the corporate culture.

At the same time, Wistron also invites professional performing groups to perform at the end-of-year parties, such as Cloud Gate Dance Company, U-Theatre Taiwan, and Diabolo Dance Theatre, etc. With the long-term promotion of art and culture, Wistron was also presented with the corporate culture award in the 9th Arts & Business Awards, awarded by the Ministry of Culture of Taiwan.

Art should be more accessible to more people. We are pleased to be part of the efforts towards and participation in the new cooperation between the arts and enterprises to create a larger market and establish a sustainable-developed collaboration mechanism for art and culture organizations and corporations. These efforts will further bring common values together, which sows the seed of arts and culture that will blossom in everyone's life as the establishment of the mechanism of development for arts and culture ecology.

Outcome

2013The program was dedicated to promoting quality arts and cultural activities to enterprises with demonstrations performed by professional artists. Moreover, performance appreciation was combined with professional guides and explanations, such as arts and cultural lectures by outstanding arts and cultural practitioners who won The National Award of Arts and thus could sharing their creative experiences. In addition, we also featured local cultural and historical studios to plan cultural tours concerning different aspects of Taiwan. By experiencing a "story" and meeting a friendly person working on the land, this helps regain people’s respect and love for the land.

2012Promoting quality arts and culture activities to enterprises so that the employees can value arts and culture through appreciation and can further enjoy them and then be transformed into a happy enterprise.
Wistron was also the first to respond to the "art-enterprise cooperation" by inviting an art and cultural group, Cloud Gate Dance Company to perform at the end-of-year party. This performance helped promote art and cultural development to social enterprises and jointly build an effective value chain for the art and cultural industry, creating mutually beneficial social value for enterprises, society, and the entire art and cultural field.
