Background

In 2012, we sponsored the film Stilt, produced by Movie Bird Films and 3rd Vision Films, and directed by Yin-chuan Tsai, a painter and writer who won the 19thTen Outstanding Young Women Awards. The film took three years to complete and was awarded the Best Screenplay Award and Top 10 Popular Movies at the 2012 Taipei Film Festival. The film records the black-winged stilt’s breeding and rearing process and Taiwan's unique and beautiful wetland scenery through the camera lens, delicately portraying the warm and touching values of brotherhood and the commitment to marriage. This is a quality film that touches upon environmental conservation and familial love by exploring family relationships through the story of the stilt.

Migratory birds are here; see the love!

As time passes and spring comes, migratory birds migrate south. As this one of the many life transitions quietly takes place in the wetlands of Taipei, Lin Jiamin (portrayed by James Wen) is an ornithologist who left his hometown in Yunlin to go north to Taipei when he was a student and made life in the city. He aspires to soar in the free sky like a migratory bird, but in reality, he is caught in the dilemma of his family relationships.

Jiamin and his brother Jiaxiong (portrayed by Kai-Hsun Chuang), who lives back home in Yunlin, have been estranged for years. At the same time, he is too preoccupied with his work as a migratory bird breeder, neglecting his wife's (portrayed by Bianca Bai) frustration with infertility, causing tension between the couple to grow. When the migratory birds started arriving, the many years of unpleasantry between the brothers and the escalating dispute between the couple suddenly burst open....
