Sponsored by the Wistron Foundation, “IC Broadcasting’s Island Symbiosis – Listening to Taiwan” is a program that focuses on environmental sustainability, listening to the voice of the local community, and speaking out for the local people. By linking together and transmitting the influence of civil society, the goal is to achieve coexistence, co-creation, and co-prosperity between nature and mankind. The host Yuan Chang-Jie visits the destinations in-person and conducts on-site interviews to give the program audience a more immersive experience. Over the past two years since its launch, the distance covered by the program on visits and interviews has covered 16,500 km, equivalent to 13.5 laps, around the main island of Taiwan. Recently, the report “A Reproduction Road Fraught with Hardship: How to Solve the Crisis of Land Crabs in the Gaomei Wetlands?” won an Outstanding Award in the Professional Category/Audio Category in the 6th Global Chinese Sustainability Journalism Award. The judges highly commended the program, “from on-site interviews to data analysis, the coverage has both breadth and depth”, which also affirms the value of the program.
