Do you remember the touching moments brought by Beyond Beauty - TAIWAN FROM ABOVE in 2013? In the closing scene of the movie, the director Chi Po-Lin specially included footprints in the Yuli rice fields in Hualien, urging the people of Taiwan to take concrete steps toward a sustainable future. The film also documents the moment when thousands of people ran together in the Taipei Marathon because, in Chi's mind, that scene of everyone running towards the same direction with all their might was the most powerful and moving image!
This year marks the tenth anniversary of the release of Beyond Beauty - TAIWAN FROM ABOVE. The Chi Po-lin Foundation is proud to hold the 2023 Run for Change marathon on December 3, where the starter gun was fired at 5:30 a.m. in front of Taipei City Hall Plaza. Five thousand runners participated in the grand event, re-creating the heartwarming and classic moment from ten years ago.
The winner of the Women's 21-kilometer category (left image) was presented with Chi's artwork and a special trophy by Grace Wan, the Executive Director of the Chi Po-lin Foundation.
This is the first time that the Chi Po-lin Foundation organized the Run for Change marathon. The hope is to bring affinity with the land to people via the most eco-friendly and healthiest way, raising awareness of environmental issues and environmental education. It also aimed to once again, gather the power of change, step by step, for the future and the environment!
Wistroners participated in the marathon wholeheartedly, supporting the Chi Po-lin Foundation cause through concrete actions. The Humanity Division of Wistron took charge of leading the Wistron team in joining the race, and answering the call of this meaningful event. The marathon included three categories: 21 kilometers, ten kilometers, and three kilometers. Wistron participants persevered to create their personal records, and many employees dedicated their first-ever finisher medals to the "Run for Change" marathon. The Wistron flag flew on the tent, cheering on for Chi's cause and for a better environment.
